Now Available at Participating Veterinary Neurology Centers

Your dog deserves a
seizure-free life.

Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) has been used to treat 100,000+ humans with epilepsy — now VNS is available for dogs with drug-resistant epilepsy.

Understanding Canine Epilepsy

Still having seizures
despite medication?

Watching your dog have a seizure is one of the most frightening things a pet owner can experience. There is more you can do.

💊

Drug-Resistant Epilepsy

1 in 3 epileptic dogs don't respond to AEDs. If your dog has failed 2+ medications, there's another option.

⚠️

Harmful Side Effects

Liver toxicity, sedation, and behavior changes are common with long-term AED use. Milo is drug-free.

📈

Benefits of VNS

Early VNS yields significantly better long-term outcomes — the anti-convulsive effect builds over time.

Common Questions

Yes. The Milo implant is built to the same standards as human implantable devices, and has accumulated multiple years of human safety data through 3 FDA clinical studies for non-epilepsy indications. Vagus nerve stimulation has been used to treat human epilepsy for decades and the side effects are minimal and well described.

Milo works alongside existing AEDs or as standalone therapy for drug-resistant dogs. Your neurologist will guide the best approach.

Similar to a normal collar, with a wider frontal section and an attached electronics module. Adjustable 12–28 inches, USB rechargeable, 24-hour battery life.

Therapy pauses but resumes immediately when the discharged collar is replaced with a charged one. The MiloApp sends low-battery alerts to help prevent interruptions to therapy.

Pet parents to Freckles
★★★★★

"We understood this wouldn’t be a quick fix, but we noticed quite early on that the post ictal recovery time was shorter. We are now 7 weeks seizure free! We believe that Milo has had such a positive effect on both Freckles and us, and he enjoys a full life. We can’t thank the Milo team enough."

Julie and Brian L.
Castle Cary, UK
Pet parent to Jonesy
★★★★★

"My favorite thing about the Milo collar is having a non-pharmaceutical option to help my dog live a longer, happier life. Although we have a dog with epilepsy, we no longer have a dog debilitated by epilepsy thanks to his Milo collar."

Neurologist FAQ

Auxilium provides all the training resources you need - veterinary manual, surgical videos, guidance from practiced vets, and even units for cadaver training. The simplicity of the implantation procedure means less training is required compared to other AIMDs.
All adjustments are performed via AuxDoc. Changes take effect wirelessly through the Smart Collar. Most routine adjustments require no clinic visit. All changes are fully logged.
Our goal is for dogs to reach the maximum dosage they can tolerate, but it takes time to acclimate to VNS. In the first office visit after recovery from surgery, you will identify the maximum initially tolerated dose. Thereafter, dosage increases incrementally each week, allowing dogs to acclimate slowly while minimizing side effects. The dosing progression is flexible to accommodate inter-patient tolerance differences. Once the target dosage has been reached, the total daily duration of stimulation is increased at 3-month intervals. See Dosing Guidelines for more information.
